Hold on to your pants kids, because a sneak peak of season six of HBO’s Game of Thrones is here!
Wow. Great, so we got to relive all those heartbreaking moments where our favorite characters were stripped of their lives right in front of our eyes. As if I had forgotten how terribly the Starks have done in the Game of Thrones realm. Sure Jamie lost his hand, but I mean… Back then he really deserved it.
Wasn’t it nice to see Bran again? What has that guy been up to? It seems as though the voiceover in the beginning of the teaser is none other than legendary actor Max von Sydow who will be playing the Three-Eyed Raven this season. He will be tutoring Bran in the ways of the Warg.
Of course HBO is capitalizing on the biggest question on everyone’s mind: Is Jon Snow alive? As Snow appears, von Sydow’s voice booms, “The past is already written. The ink is dry.” Is that a confirmation?! Or is the network trying to pull one over on the audience? My bet is on the latter.
Ultimately we’re just seeing snippets of the past and not much of what is to come. Along with von Sydow, also recently cast is actor Ian McShane who is neither seen nor heard in the preview. in fact, his character has been tight under wraps which has caused speculation to fly wildly. It has been announced that McShane will only appear in one episode, but from an interview with Pop Goes the News it sounds like it will be a huge episode. “I’ll give you one hint. I am responsible for bringing somebody back that you think you’re never going to see again. I’ll leave it at that.” That’s what you leave it with?!
As the preview winds down we see blood pooling around a lifeless Snow, Bran using his abilities and Jojen Reed’s voice promising viewers, “They have no idea what’s going to happen.”
